Post render pixel from sd (render queue)

hi all, maybe i'm doing something wrong with polarshield sd, well, first i uploaded machine spec to polarshield via usb cable, then removed the cable.
then i write onto the sd a queue.txt, insert the sd onto the polarshield reset it and move the gondola to the homing pos and turn on the motor with the touchscreen. but when trying to write from sd the queue the gondola goes to the bottom right of the sheet almost out of it. in other words it does not work via sd in standalone mode!
any idea?
thank you

Hi, first guess would be that you don't have a "set home" (C09,...) as the first command in your queue.txt. If you have, there's a limit to how anyone can help without seeing the first couple of commands in the your queue, and your machine spec (properties file).

Also need to know what version of firmware you're using. Also, if you know that one of your stepper drivers is faulty (and I know that one of yours is), then nothing else will be very reliable. Things that appear to be bugs may not necessarily be bugs.

Oh cool, glad it arrived - it was the first one! I haven't had a chance to get to the post office with the second one yet - it's still in an envelope in my bag, glad you mentioned it!

Right, yes, if you are drawing from SD, just about the first command you should _always_ have in your queue is a "set home", so a C09, xx, xx, END command. Without this, the machine doesn't know where it is, and assumes a default, which is almost never correct.

So whether you are drawing tethered, or from SD, you always need to do a "set home" before you can do anything useful. "motors on", from the touchscreen does simple that, turns the motors on. It doesn't do the set home. In fact, the machine itself has no concept of home, that exists entirely in the controller.

You shouldn't need to update the firmware to get this working.

cheers!
