When you want to build something different and need some inspiration then you might concider to look in China. On sites like http://www.soku.com and http://www.youku.com (these are a remix of youtube and a somewhat legal version* of the piratebay) A few instances to get you started: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTk4NzAxMTA4.html http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTk2MzA5NTE2.html http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNzg4NDExNg==.html http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XODIxMzIyOTI=.html http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XODMzMDU3MjQ=.html http://www.soku.com/search_video/q_3d?q=braiding+machine&searchdomain=&searchType=video *there are just as much hollywood movies on those sites then on piratebay and more public. Youku says its online videos are legal Most people in China are still not aware of terms like OpenSource and Creative Commons due to the restrictive nature of their internet access to our parts of the world. So we can't blame them for not understanding the way things are meant to be done. But hey why is Hollywood not doing anything to DRM the crap out of china, and over here they terrorize every teen with copyright lawsuits. Hollywood needs to grow up, and find a more humane way to deal with nowadays technology. Downloads save them heaps of money. No boxcovers they need to print, no logistics costs, no wholesales department and stocking costs, no 75% driven up prices due to resellers, no overproduction, and no damaged stock items. No costs AT ALL, only profits. Maybe less actual sales but they still make bigger and more expensive movies. If downloads really hurt them as much as they want us to believe then how do they justify that? |
